Weir ESCO Hosts Mobile Casting Booth at 2023 Oregon Events
Meet our team and learn the art of casting in Bend, and Portland, Oregon

Come one, come all! Weir ESCO’s mobile casting booth is coming to your neighborhood this summer. Now’s your chance to see the casting process up close, create your own casting and take home your own miniature creation.
The casting booth was developed by our teams in Portland, Oregon, to show the community what we do and how we do it. As a leading innovator, Weir ESCO continually seeks opportunities to promote STEM in a fun and engaging way, while generating excitement about careers in the trades.
So, to bring the mobile casting booth to life, we are taking this fun, hands-on STEM activity to various Pacific Northwest events. Employee volunteers will guide you through a condensed version of mold-making, pouring, cooling and finishing. Consider it a “show and share” on the art of casting—a process used by our foundry, engineering and metallurgical teams every day to create the world’s leading products for mining and infrastructure development.
In June and July, Weir ESCO will make its inaugural appearance at Latin American Community Ciencias Night and Pride Night, hosted by longtime community partner, Oregon Museum of Science & Industry (OMSI). In September, bring the family and meet us in Bend, Oregon, with our partners at High Desert Makers. We head back to Portland for OMSI’s premiere event, the Science Festival, later that month. Purchasing tickets* in advance is strongly encouraged.
